At this time of year we also look forward to ANZAC day on 25th of May. With this day during the holidays we took the opportunity this week to remember and pray for our fallen soldiers and reflect on the suffering of those affected by war. Our memorial service provided an opportunity for both students and staff to reflect on the peaceful country we live in and the commitment and service the NZ armed services provide throughout the world toward maintaining peace. I thank Mr Maxwell, Whanau class A5MAX, Cadets Chris Woodyear-Smith, Alex Cleary, Antony Lam, Nathan Powick and Logan Ford for their presence and service in leading our memorial. I particularly thank Captain Kevin Drysdale of the New Zealand Army Medical Corp, for his presence at our memorial service. We are reminded from the quote Kevin shared with us that we are all have a part to play in maintaining a peaceful world; “For evil to succeed, all it needs is for good men to do nothing” Martin Luther King Jnr.
