Gifted and Talented Workshop

A select group of Year 9 students spent 14 March being innovators of technology rather than passive users. They were shown how to wire a circuit on a breadboard, how to programme their circuit through a micro-controller called an Arduino, and then were challenge to create something, anything that utilized a motor. Not only were the inventions creative but they all showed such ingenuity. Modifying their programme and adding buttons or variable resistors proved to be quite a challenge but all were very successful. One group made a paper air plane launcher, another gave Einstein some crazy eyes, while another made a 'wheel of fortune' game. It was great fun to spend the day with these students
