A large group of Garin students participated in a one day workshop to learn how to create engineered and freehand 3D files for printing on the 3D printers at Gerin College. This workshop was delivered by two engineers from Auto Desk and organised by the 'Ministry of Inspiration'. A wide range of skills and techniques was covered by the boys who took to the task very quickly, and outperformed older more experienced students according to the tutors. But what most impressed our visitors was the way the students worked with each other in overcoming difficulties as no one student had all the answers. Further workshops are planned to help 3D printing become a more regular outcome for a student's thinking the next step being 3D scanning.
